  1. enhace rich editor

    In Rich Editor when something changes showing to code (when focusing to edit) maintain block height to enhace reading and editing (avoid moving up the next text). Also a "WYSIWYG" popup could be helpfull as a next step.

  2. Add starred versions of environments/commands to autocomplete

    For example \begin{align}, \section{}, etc.

  3. Live preview is extremely slow

    I enjoy WriteLatex, but it still takes about 1 minute to load typeset previews from my fast internet connection in Berkeley, California. Is there a way to speed this up? My document currently only 10 pages and doesn't contain any images or figures.

  4. The compiler is slow and is not strong.

    The compiler takes much time to compile, even the local compiler is fast sometimes. If you would like to compare online compiler then I have used Sharelatex as well, its MUCH MUCH faster.
    ANother thing is that compiler is not able to render document ignoring some small errors such as defined \hbox which is general error and can be ignored to compile the complex mathematical formulas.
    I wanted to switch over but this is too much lag to compile and not adjusting to small errors which are prone to happen.

    Update: We have recently increased the max file upload size to 50MB, even though the 15MB limit still applies to zip uploads (also to be lifted soon). So, if you upload the larger files individually, that should work now.

  6. safari bookmark picture

    There is no image on the when you bookmark the page on safari, would be nice to have!

  7. Multiple image/file deletion

    It would be great if I'd be able to delete multiple file/images in the LaTeX project file.

  8. Synchronize and update files from google drive/ drop box

    Hi there,

    I know that Overleaf has already integrated functionality with google drive and drop box etc.
    But, one of the powers of using Latex is you can specify a file name in a directory and whenever you compile, it would get that file/image - so you could work on your analysis and write a new image with the same file name (same file name as the older image) and Latex would pull the new image.

    Is it possible to have this kind of ability in Overleaf? Something like a refresh button in the Project Files section which then reloads…

  9. is there a way to include the minted-package at version 2+

    I would need minted at version 2+ in order to use the breaklines option.
    Is there any way to specify the version or upgrade overleaf to version 2
    (as far as i have tested it, it is fully compatible with 1.X)

  10. Rich text mode display figures reliably

    I only seem to get figures displayed in the rich text editor if I store the image files in the 'root' folder of the project. When I tidy them into a separate folder (and point to the folder) the rich text editor displays [Not Found:...] despite the pdf preview displaying it just fine.

  12. make the git server more reliable

    The git pull/push service is excellent, but the git server right now is not really very reliable. From time to time I will get the error message "fatal: remote error: Overleaf server not available. Please try again later." It would be great to improve the reliability of the git server.

  13. Specific Mendelay Folders

    Rather than import your entire Mendelay Library being able to import specific Mendelay folders for specific Overleaf projects would be useful.

  14. Support departments references from Mendeley, as currently only authors are supported

    In Mendeley if you export a citation you get extra {} around the author, see below:

    @article{TheRoyalAcademyofEngineering2012,
    author = {{The Royal Academy of Engineering}},
    title = {{Heat: degrees of comfort?}},
    year = {2012}
    }

    However, within overleaf import bib you don't have the brackets:

    @article{TheRoyalAcademyofEngineering2012,
    title = {Heat: degrees of comfort?},
    year = {2012},
    author = {The Royal Academy of Engineering}
    }

    This causes an issue as your references shows:

    [7] T. R. A. of Engineering, “Heat: degrees of comfort?” 2012.

    When it should show:

    1. The Royal Academy of Engineering. Heat: degrees of comfort? (2012).

  15. Add project-wide spell check

    I often work on projects with multiple sub-files.

    It'd be great to have a way of applying spell-check to all of them automatically instead of having to manually go through each: in particular when variable names in inline code gives a lot of false positives :)

    Something like the ability to generate a list of all detected typos in the project would be brilliant.

  16. Readcube integration for references

    Now that Mendeley integration is available, I'm still waiting for the ReadCube equivalent. Considering that Digital Science supports both projects I find it a bit strange that such integration isn't already available.

  17. Make highlighting darker

    The highlighting in the text editor is very light compared to other programs and can be hard to see. If there is a reason for it to be light you could add multiple settings.

  18. create an option to delete a project AND disable the url associated to it.

    I am able to "remove" a project from the "My Projects" dashboard, but the url associated to the project is still active. I wish it were possible to erase any trace of it.

    We are planning to add an easier way of erasing a project soon. In the mean time, the best thing to do is to erase the content of the main file and delete all of the other files and any saved versions. Thanks for the feedback!

  19. Can \includeonly be used to compile only part of a project?

    I am writing a thesis and use \include to include chapters. To make compiling faster I would like to use \includeonly{} to compile only the chapter I am currently working on.

    It seems however that this is not possible in writelatex as I get a warning message that the .aux files of the chapters can not be found. This happens in my own document as well as in the first thesis example from the Create New Project menu. As a result the whole bibliography is included but page numbers and TOC are not based on the whole project.

    Thanks for getting in touch. At present, includeonly isn’t supported, because we recompile your entire project from scratch every time. We’ll look at how we can support this in future. Agree it will be very useful for theses. :)

  20. Making italicaction and bolding truly rich.

    Is including braces {} necessary for bolding/italicising etc in Rich Text?
