  1. is there a way to include the minted-package at version 2+

    I would need minted at version 2+ in order to use the breaklines option.
    Is there any way to specify the version or upgrade overleaf to version 2
    (as far as i have tested it, it is fully compatible with 1.X)

    • Each document should have a shareable link directly to freshly compiled pdf without source view

      At the moment, each document has two shareable links: one leads to an editable view, the other to a read-only version of source and compiled document. But sometimes you only want to give someone access to the (continually updated) pdf/compiled version of the doc. For people who don't need or want to see the source. My suggestion is to add a third shareable link; one which leads directly to a pdf file (compiled fresh from the current source) and nothing else.

      This is different from sharing on figleaf as you may want to share a window to work-in-progress as it…

        • Rich text mode display figures reliably

          I only seem to get figures displayed in the rich text editor if I store the image files in the 'root' folder of the project. When I tidy them into a separate folder (and point to the folder) the rich text editor displays [Not Found:...] despite the pdf preview displaying it just fine.

            Thanks for the feedback. The rich text mode currently doesn’t understand the \graphicspath command, so it only works with images that have a full path specified. We’re planning to improve this.

            • Search in all files

              Allow searching in all files in the project, instead of just in the one currently active. For instance, this could have been helpful for me personally when I had to find an unclosed \begin{environment}.

              • make the git server more reliable

                The git pull/push service is excellent, but the git server right now is not really very reliable. From time to time I will get the error message "fatal: remote error: Overleaf server not available. Please try again later." It would be great to improve the reliability of the git server.

                • Specific Mendelay Folders

                  Rather than import your entire Mendelay Library being able to import specific Mendelay folders for specific Overleaf projects would be useful.

                  • Support departments references from Mendeley, as currently only authors are supported

                    In Mendeley if you export a citation you get extra {} around the author, see below:

                    @article{TheRoyalAcademyofEngineering2012,
                    author = {{The Royal Academy of Engineering}},
                    title = {{Heat: degrees of comfort?}},
                    year = {2012}
                    }

                    However, within overleaf import bib you don't have the brackets:

                    @article{TheRoyalAcademyofEngineering2012,
                    title = {Heat: degrees of comfort?},
                    year = {2012},
                    author = {The Royal Academy of Engineering}
                    }

                    This causes an issue as your references shows:

                    [7] T. R. A. of Engineering, “Heat: degrees of comfort?” 2012.

                    When it should show:

                    1. The Royal Academy of Engineering. Heat: degrees of comfort? (2012).

                      Thanks for reporting this and for taking the time to provide detailed info. We’ll pass this on to Mendeley, who handle the conversion to bibtex, and let you know when we hear back. :)

                    • Add project-wide spell check

                      I often work on projects with multiple sub-files.

                      It'd be great to have a way of applying spell-check to all of them automatically instead of having to manually go through each: in particular when variable names in inline code gives a lot of false positives :)

                      Something like the ability to generate a list of all detected typos in the project would be brilliant.

                      • Readcube integration for references

                        Now that Mendeley integration is available, I'm still waiting for the ReadCube equivalent. Considering that Digital Science supports both projects I find it a bit strange that such integration isn't already available.

                        • Make highlighting darker

                          The highlighting in the text editor is very light compared to other programs and can be hard to see. If there is a reason for it to be light you could add multiple settings.

                            Thanks for the feedback. We’ll look into changing the default colour theme to make the highlight darker. In the mean time, note that you can choose from a variety of colour themes in your settings. :)

                            I am able to "remove" a project from the "My Projects" dashboard, but the url associated to the project is still active. I wish it were possible to erase any trace of it.

                              We are planning to add an easier way of erasing a project soon. In the mean time, the best thing to do is to erase the content of the main file and delete all of the other files and any saved versions. Thanks for the feedback!

                            • Can \includeonly be used to compile only part of a project?

                              I am writing a thesis and use \include to include chapters. To make compiling faster I would like to use \includeonly{} to compile only the chapter I am currently working on.

                              It seems however that this is not possible in writelatex as I get a warning message that the .aux files of the chapters can not be found. This happens in my own document as well as in the first thesis example from the Create New Project menu. As a result the whole bibliography is included but page numbers and TOC are not based on the whole project.

                                Thanks for getting in touch. At present, includeonly isn’t supported, because we recompile your entire project from scratch every time. We’ll look at how we can support this in future. Agree it will be very useful for theses. :)

                                • Nested folders

                                  Guys, You are doing an awesome work. I was planning to write up my thesis in writeLatex but currently I changed my mind because of lack of support for nested folders. I keep my images like: /figures/ch1/img1.jpg, /figures/ch2/img2.jpg... But I can't create a folder inside /figures folder. Is this a coming feature?

                                    Better nested folder support is coming soon, but until then there is a trick you can use to create nested folders: just put a slash into the name, e.g. “foo/bar” will create a folder foo with a subfolder bar. Thanks for the feedback!

                                  • Make it easier to set the main file

                                    Right now, it is a puzzle how to set the main file in the project. Somewhere a tip says:

                                    "A simple way of compiling another file is to put:
                                    \input{other-file.tex}
                                    as the first line in the main file -- before even the document class. This will cause us to compile that file instead, and LaTeX will ignore the rest of the "main" file.."

                                    This is hard to understand and it does not seem to work.

                                    • Preview for PDF figures

                                      Thanks for adding preview for figures in Rich Text mode. It works fine for file types such as .png or jpg but not for figures saved as PDF. It would be nice to have the preview for PDF as well.
                                      Thanks.

                                      • Indent \end{...} properly when autocompleting

                                        When typing \begin{...} with Auto-Complete enabled, the corresponding \end{...} gets added automatically. However \end{...} is not indented. It should be indented with the same amount of spaces/tabs as \begin{...}.

                                        • Keyboard shortcuts for common math and text formatting commands

                                          This is a big part of TeXStudio that I appreciate very much (they're also customizable, which is nice).

                                          For example, assigning an easy keyboard shortcut to inline math mode (the default in TeXStudio is cmd-shift-M [on mac]) and to start an equation (in TeXStudio, cmd-shift-N), etc. The toolbar has some rudimentary features but using my mouse while writing is a nuisance and the toolbar isn't very flexible in any case.
