You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Screen layout doesn't work well for Portrait-Mode monitors

    For portrait mode monitors it's better to stack the editor and the preview rather than have them side-by-side.

    We’ll look into providing a portrait mode, but there is a workaround for now: if you open the same document in two browser windows, you can hide the preview in one and the source in the other, and then you can position them as you like. Thanks for the suggestion.

  2. Multiple outputs

    Sometimes one project has multiple useful outputs (single- and double-column versions, or slides and handout, or even document and \documentclass{standalone} figures and tables). It would be great to be able to mark more than one file for compilation.

  3. keyboard shortcuts

    C = ctrl
    S = shift
    A = alt

    duplicate line : C + S + d
    delete line : C + d
    shift line up: A + up arrow
    shift line down: A + down arrow

  4. Liked your vim mode, but it would be better if the system refrained from typesetting while vim is in 'insert' mode.

    You could read the vim mode to decide if auto typesetting is in order:
    While one is editing ('insert' mode) latex errors are to expect (e.g: removing an opening brace while still not removing the matching closing brace). Triggering errors at this moment is distracting.

    I'd prefer that exiting 'insert' mode would trigger typesetting.

    Thanks for the suggestion — that’s a good idea. Also note that you can now disable the automatic preview by clicking the appropriate link that appears when you mouse over the preview indicator. Then it will compile only when you tell it to. Thanks again!

  5. Allow externalization of pgfplots

    Allow externalization of pgfplots:

    \usepgfplotslibrary{external}
    \tikzexternalize

    It allows compiling much faster once the plots have been created.

  6. Some way of donating

    I know you guys have not done this for financial reasons, but I would happily donate to the project to see new features etc.

  7. Implement markdown with pandoc extensions

    Pandoc (http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/) provides a way to convert markdown, with LaTeX formulas, into LaTeX; it should be trivial to implement using it. Markdown format would be very convenient for sharing quick ideas and notes among mathematicians, as opposed to full papers.

  8. please populate PDF meta data based off of the document data (e.g. \title, \author, affiliation, etc.).

    When you export to a PDF, it should auto-populate the PDF meta-data with the information available from the TeX document.

  9. Editing

    1. Some emacs commands work, many don't. This is not a big deal but...

    2. I surfed your site for a while looking for a list of editing commands and could not find them. So perhaps make those more obvious.

  10. Can I run it on my own Knoppix box ( with static IP ) ?

    Very cool. Great idea, but I am most paranoid. Would like it running in my own world?

    Easy?

  11. Compiling documents written in other languages

    I want to change typesetting command from latex to plates for creating japanese documents.
    Is it possible to change this kind of issues for non-roman users?

  12. Agregar la posibilidad de publicar los documentos en Scribd

    Sería interesante escribir desde cualquier lugar y poder publicar cualquier documento en nuestras cuentas de Scribd.
