  1. Add shortcut keys for page up/down in the preview pane (while editing)

This would prevent the need to use the mouse at all. Just edit away in the source pane, and when you want to scroll the preview pane, press the keyboard shortcuts for "preview pane page up" or "preview pane page down." Bonus points if there are also shortcut keys for "preview pane a few lines up" and "preview pane a few lines down."

  2. Provide an API for integration into web apps

It would be great if I could integrate writeLaTeX into our internal web app, so that our users could use your editor to create, save, share, etc (all the features you support), but within our own environment. Document privacy would be a paramount concern, so some way to keep documents secure (unless they're explicitly shared) would be critical.

Maybe this is possible just using some fancy javascript and iframes... I will be looking into it, since this is the best online LaTeX solution I've seen!

  3. Add toolbar like a Text Editor

The tool would bring more productivity if it had a toolbar like a Text Editor. So, the user wouldn't have to write tex commands by hand.

  4. Problem in placing the cursor in the desired position in source code

I am using Android in Samsung Galaxy S3. My browser is Google Chrome. I am having difficulty placing the cursor in the place I want. Even when I zoom in, it does not help putting the cursor to the desired location in the TeX source code. Please fix this because writeLaTeX is really awesome. Thanks.

  5. if you can interface this with google docs, that way we can use our google drive, that would be amazing.

Google docs is an amazing tool and if you can integrate this great tool with google docs. A lot of people will love to use it.

  6. Add an option for horizontal layout (code window below preview)

I'd like to be able to split the windows horizontally instead of vertically. This would only be helpful if the preview window could be zoomed to fit the width of the document, not the whole page.

  7. Add the ability to checkout sources from an SVN repository and commit/update facility

A lot of teams rely on code management systems to do collaborative paper editing. Not having the possibility to do SVN commits, updates and reverts is the show stopper for my team.

  8. Expand/Contract

It would be interesting to have the ability to expand and contract a block of text. This is specially useful in large tex files

  9. How about macros?

This is awesome. iPad worked fine.

I use a TexShop macro like this a lot:

    type "bmatrix" -> Cmd-Something -> \begin{bmatrix} \end{bmatrix}

Would be great to have customizable commands.

  11. Don't lock the input when connection is lost.

When I suddenly lose wifi, it stops me from typing. The biggest problem with this is if I am not looking and I press backspace when this happens, the back function of my browser is used, changing the page and potentially causing loss of work.

  12. Use Mozilla Persona for login

Offer a quick and easy login using Mozilla Persona (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/persona/) and alternates for Twitter or Facebook, but don't bother with OpenID.

  13. iPad and iPhone support would be really great

First of all, this is a really awesome service. I like the minimal interface very much.
But it even would be much better, if editing would be possible via iPhone and iPad as well. This way I could continue editing, e.g. while wasting time at the bus stop.

  14. highlight input of different authors as Etherpad does

Thumbs up for your idea and the current status.
To make it really useful in collaborative editing it would be nice to have the original highlighting of Etherpad to see who wrote what.
