Support cleveref in Rich Text mode
When using the cleveref package, one makes references using \Cref and \cref instead of \ref. When viewing the latex source using these references, they are not rendered like they are with \ref. I think, \cref (and \Cref) in Rich Text mode both can be treated like \ref.

Add provision to share the project pdf only
It would be helpful if we can share the project pdf with others. No matter whatever the project type is (protected or not), if we can share the pdf through Overleaf, we will be able to share them in our website or somewhere else whenever needed. Right now we need to host the pdf somewhere else to share them with others.
2 votesThanks for the feedback! Agree that would be helpful.

Count words in selected text
Most journals limit the amount of words in certain parts, for example abstracts. So it would be nice to be able to count the number of words in a selections.
2 votesThanks for the feedback! That would indeed be very useful. We will see what we can do to support that.

Show section numbers in rich text mode.
Show the (sub)section number in the richt text mode, e.g.: \subesction{Title} would display as '2.1 Title'
1 voteThanks for the feedback! I agree that would be nice. We will see what we can do.

Fix: Keep directories open when refreshing Mendeley's .bib file
My .bib file is linked to my Mendeley account. Whenever I refresh the .bib file, all of the directories on the left-hand side of the project interface automatically close, and I'm redirected to my "main.tex" file where the .bib file is included.
I suggest that my folders remain open, and that I am not redirected from the document I'm currently editing at the time of pressing the refresh button. Thanks!
3 votesThanks for the feedback! We will try to improve that.

Thanks for the feedback. I think we may be able to improve media9 support when we upgrade to the version of tex live that comes with ubuntu 16.04.

Having an embedded image editor with simple tools.
I don't expect something like Gimp or Photoshop, only very simple operations such as resizing, cropping, rotation, etc.
2 votesThanks for the feedback! We’ll look into what we can do to improve image handling in the rich text mode.

show image size beside its preview.
Overleaf support suggested to me that I should resize big images in order to make compilation faster. It would be easier if that information were shown beside each image preview.
2 votesThanks for the feedback! That’s a good suggestion.

Drag and drop graphics from computer directly into text
It would be a great function to add graphics to the text by just dragging them from the own computer to the text and dropping them directly to where they should be in the text. This would add them to the sidebar and add them directly into the text by adding \includegraphics at the right location.

to work on performance and speed
I really like the setup and easy usability of overleaf, but after using it for a while, I will change to an offline editor, simply because I spend too much time waiting for the file to refresh (even on manual, without any graphics or data in the code).
I tried several locations and internet connections and it is definitely NOT my computer or internet connection.
4 votesThanks for the feedback. We will see what we can do to make it faster.

Provide a developement roadmap
I see a lot of unfulfilled promises in this forum, things being "worked on" for more than 2 years.
Can you provide a development roadmap with dated milestones? This would help prospective customers to make an informed decisions as well as manage expectations for current subscribers.
9 votesThanks for the feedback. We’ll see what we can do to make this process more transparent. I can at least assure you for now that we are still working hard on improving Overleaf!

should not need to add capitalized word to dictionary when lowercase word is already added
When you add a word to the dictionary that starts with a capital letter, it is just correct that the lowercase version of the word is marked by the spell-checker, as it can be a proper noun.
But when you add a lowercase word to the dictionary, then the one starting with a capital letter should be accepted as correct, especially at sentence start. Currently it is not.
6 votesThanks for the feedback. We have recently improved the spell checker, so hopefully this is less of an issue. If it is still causing problems, please do vote this up so we can prioritise.

Edit of .bib doesn't work
Modification of an uploaded .bib doesn't work through the overleaf interface.
Tried in firefox and opera, tries to open an additional window, but appears to miss a plug-in decoder?
Thus, I have to add additional references manually. This is quite annoying.
4 votesThanks for getting in touch. You should be able to edit a .bib file directly in Overleaf by clicking on it in the project menu
-unless you imported it from an online reference manager, such as Mendeley (see https://www.overleaf.com/blog/184).There shouldn’t be any plugins or extra windows, so it may help if you can send us some screenshots and a detailed description of the steps you took before getting the error via www.overleaf.com/contact. Thanks!

BTC
Please enable bitcoin payments. I would like to pay but I would like to pay this way. Thank you!
3 votesThanks for the feedback! If there’s enough interest, I think we can add this, now that Stripe supports BTC.

support vimrc to remember vim settings
In the global settings or project settings, add a section where user can type some vim settings like a vimrc file, so that key bindings and other settings can be remembered. For example, I like to :map j gj and :map k gk, but currently opening a session will replace these.
7 votesThanks for the feedback! We use the vim mode that comes with CodeMirror, so the most likely way this would happen would be for the CodeMirror vim mode to understand vimrc. Feel free to suggest it there, or maybe we could develop this as a codemirror plugin. There have been some related suggestions already, e.g. https://github.com/codemirror/CodeMirror/issues/3049

Custom display fonts for editor
I don't use/understand the rich text editor, but the default fixed width font in the regular editor makes some diacritics hard to see. I would be doing a lot less compiling and editing if I could use a display font that was easier on my eyes! Is that heretical, or could it be as simple as the custom themes?
1 voteThanks for the feedback! We’ll see what we can do to improve the rich text mode and to provide more options for variable-width fonts in the source editor.

add timeline package
Add the timeline package. (https://github.com/cfiandra/timeline)
I was trying to use it but compiler couldn't find it.
3 votesThanks for the feedback! It would be best to get this into TeX Live so it will be installed everywhere, but if there’s enough interest, we can install it on Overleaf.
In the mean time, note that you can upload your own .sty and .code.tex files to your projects on Overleaf, if you want to use this package right now!

Characters are removed when copying
If I copy paste some text from other site into my Overleaf project, if for example there is the word "different", when I paste it disappears "iff" and the resultant word is "dierent". There are some more combination of letters that are removed when pasting. Thanks
1 voteThanks for the feedback! We’ll see what we can do to support ligatures in copy and paste.

Thanks for the feedback. In the preview, you can use all of the standard LaTeX commands, including figure*.
In rich text mode, the current display of figures is pretty basic. Improved figure display is coming soon. We’ll see what we can do with multi-column figures in rich text mode, but it’s important to note that you can still use them if you edit the source directly.
