  1. if you can interface this with google docs, that way we can use our google drive, that would be amazing.

Google docs is an amazing tool and if you can integrate this great tool with google docs. A lot of people will love to use it.

  2. Display structure panel

Add third (hide/expand) panel to the left of source code panel showing structure of the source file based on sectioning tags.
Clicking on the chapter / (sub)section visible in that panel would bring you to according line in the source code.
This would help navigating through more complex source files, especially because there is no distinction in syntax colouring between different levels of structure (which would also be a nice thing).
    TIA

  3. hard wrap text in the editor

It would be nice if the editor would hard wrap the text after a (configurable) textwidth.

I usually edit text in vim in a terminal, but downloading a .tex file edited in writelatex has very long lines of text that I then have to reformat.

  5. Implement markdown with pandoc extensions

Pandoc (http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/) provides a way to convert markdown, with LaTeX formulas, into LaTeX; it should be trivial to implement using it. Markdown format would be very convenient for sharing quick ideas and notes among mathematicians, as opposed to full papers.

  6. latexdiff

Provide support for running latexdiff (http://www.ctan.org/pkg/latexdiff) between two versions of a manuscript.

Many journals, after returning manuscripts to authors with comments from reviewers, ask for a marked up version of a manuscript showing tracked changes. I've always used latexdiff to generate these marked up PDFs.

It would be nice if writeLatex could add support for running latexdiff between two versions of a manuscript.

  7. enable off-line updating

It would be great if you could keep synced a local copy of the project to be able to work even when you are not on the internet.
At least you should have the possibility of dowloading the latest version manually and upload it again next time you are back on writelatex.
    Great work, Enrico

  8. Arrow key functionality for iPad

The arrow keys on a bluetooth keyboard don't work when using writeLatex on iPad. This makes it much harder to use writeLatex for iPad and adding the functionality should make the experience much more pleasant.

  9. Each document should have a shareable link directly to freshly compiled pdf without source view

At the moment, each document has two shareable links: one leads to an editable view, the other to a read-only version of source and compiled document. But sometimes you only want to give someone access to the (continually updated) pdf/compiled version of the doc. For people who don't need or want to see the source. My suggestion is to add a third shareable link; one which leads directly to a pdf file (compiled fresh from the current source) and nothing else.

This is different from sharing on figleaf as you may want to share a window to work-in-progress as it…

  10. highlight input of different authors as Etherpad does

Thumbs up for your idea and the current status.
To make it really useful in collaborative editing it would be nice to have the original highlighting of Etherpad to see who wrote what.

  11. Create native mobile and desktop apps

Even it the writeLaTeX editor is usable in mobile browsers, but it is far from perfect. With native mobile apps for Android and iOS you maybe could render the preview and/or math formulas in rich text view (instead of MathJax) locally, which would make it much faster. And you could provide extra keyboard buttons, so that it is easier to type symbols like \[]{}()&, etc. used often in LaTeX.
Local rendering would of course also speed up desktop apps.

  13. Customized commands for vim mode

People who are savy with vim editor always tend to use their customized command keys(eg. instead of <esc> use <jj>) It will great if the vim mode supports customizing command keys.

  14. Paperpile integration

The process of getting a .bib file from Paperpile to writeLaTeX is currently a bit long-winded. It'd be great if automatic import could be added... though I expect this might require some work on Paperpile's end.

  15. Multiple image/file deletion

It would be great if I'd be able to delete multiple file/images in the LaTeX project file.

  16. Being able to read the log files of the current job would be very useful

Being able to read the log files of the current job would be very useful, for example to see exactly what versions of the loaded packages are used.

Thanks for the feedback. We are working on a better way of displaying the LaTeX log. Until then, note that we do make the log available whenever there is an error in your document, so if you ever want to access the log, you can, for example, comment out your \end{document} and then use the ‘open latex log’ link in the top right. :)

  17. Add ConTeXt support

It would be nice if WriteLaTeX supported ConTeXt macro package.

  18. Add support for BitBucket (not just GitHub)

filepicker.io currently gives support to files in GitHub projects. Most people in the sciences I know are either computer novices or have more experience with Python. Both of these things make them biased toward Mercurial, and thus BitBucket.

filepicker.io should be enhanced to support BitBucket as well.

  19. compile latex to MS word format as well.

It would be great to compile to different versions and word. Some companies or publishes require MS word versions of documents.

I know you guys have not done this for financial reasons, but I would happily donate to the project to see new features etc.
