Extend the vim editing mode to allow jk movement on the same line (if it wraps)
Thanks for the suggestion — this is a good point. Like in native vim, you can use gj and gk on writeLaTeX to move one displayed line up or down, but there’s not yet a way to override j and k to do this, like you could in your vimrc file. If there’s enough interest, we can probably provide such an option.
There definitely is such interest. In a similar vein, if I type :gq in vi it reformats the text, wrapping
it, allowing j, k to work

A similar possibility would be to implement the "gq" functionality of vim, to allow automatic re-wrapping / re-breaking of long lines (in between words).
