  1. fix the jumping cursor gremlin!

There seems to be a wee editor gremlin with the cursor potentially jumping position - the most dangerous version I've had of this is selecting a bit of text to delete, and finding a deletion actually happens higher or lower in the document. Easy to miss what's going on and get a problem in your text. I'm running Chrome Version 24.0.1312.57 on a Mac.

We’ve seen several issues that cause cause the cursor to appear to be in the wrong place. If you hit one of these, can you please be sure to tell us:

    1. Which browser and operating system are you using.

    2. The text on the line that this problem occurs on.

This information makes it much easier for us to track down the causes of these problems. Thanks!

  2. Arrow key functionality for iPad

The arrow keys on a bluetooth keyboard don't work when using writeLatex on iPad. This makes it much harder to use writeLatex for iPad and adding the functionality should make the experience much more pleasant.

  3. Show page counter in preview

When writing a scientific paper for conferences (mainly) with maximum number of pages it would be so helpful to have a page counter in preview.

  4. Render the image with HTML5 and SVG instead of PDF or PNG

Please support HTML5 and SVG, that could help a lot to display real time when we do a change in the latex text instead of reder a PDF image.

  5. Sort projects by title in dashboard

We can sort projects by date created, updated etc but would be very useful to be able to sort by title. I split long projects into numbered sections and would be useful to see them in that order.

  7. Support cleveref in Rich Text mode

When using the cleveref package, one makes references using \Cref and \cref instead of \ref. When viewing the latex source using these references, they are not rendered like they are with \ref. I think, \cref (and \Cref) in Rich Text mode both can be treated like \ref.

  8. Count words in selected text

Most journals limit the amount of words in certain parts, for example abstracts. So it would be nice to be able to count the number of words in a selections.

  10. Allow hierarchical organisation of projects

Some projects involve multiple documents relying on some of the same source files - for instance a grant proposal involving several documents in the same style and with a shared bib file. It would be good to have a hiearchical organisation of projects and subprojects in both the projects view and the left bar.

  11. Commit the PDF along the files in GIT.

    Hello folks,

I would like OverLeaf to be able to commit the latest generated PDF along the files in the GIT commits.
    Is this conceivable?

  12. Show section numbers in rich text mode.

Show the (sub)section number in the richt text mode, e.g.: \subesction{Title} would display as '2.1 Title'

  13. Replace image/file without having to delete the old one

It would be great if the dropdown of a file had the option of "replace by another file", or if files with the same name would automatically replace the old one.
    Thanks

  15. Compile latex image files separately

In my projects I use lots of tikz pictures that I create as standalone documents to compile separately. These figures are not updated often, reason why I just compile them as needed. I usually store these in a sub-directory, e.g. <project dir>/img/tikz.

I am aware that Overleaf allows to import PDF files from other projects, but this would force me to create dozens of projects, one for each image.

As far as I understand, there is no way to compile a single file inside a project, or is it? If not, I think this could be a useful feature.

    Best…

  16. Fix: Keep directories open when refreshing Mendeley's .bib file

My .bib file is linked to my Mendeley account. Whenever I refresh the .bib file, all of the directories on the left-hand side of the project interface automatically close, and I'm redirected to my "main.tex" file where the .bib file is included.

I suggest that my folders remain open, and that I am not redirected from the document I'm currently editing at the time of pressing the refresh button. Thanks!

  17. Include a structure sidebar for navigation inside the document

In my opinion this is one of the most basic features since it allows navigation inside ones document. TEXstudio does it by letting you jump directly to the sections and subsections.
This idea is not new: http://support.overleaf.com/forums/137318-feedback/suggestions/4295795-display-structure-panel
But since this suggestion is from 3 years ago, I decided to repost it.

  18. Highlight the current line

Give an option to highlight the current line, i.e. the one where the cursor lies. This should also account for word wrapping, and not highlight the entire block.

  19. Ugly thin black border on the right side of equations, please fix.

Just a small bug, but annoying as hell and needs fixing! Otherwise your rich text editor is really awesome! (Perhaps you can use KaTeX for rendering in the rich text editor?)

    I have a Chromebook with ChromeOS v48.

  20. Allow code to be beautified with latexindent

Latex code is often messy, and having a standard for code formatting makes for much nicer diffs between versions.

There is an existing tool called [latexindent](https://www.ctan.org/pkg/latexindent) which can be used to beautify latex source code.

It would be very useful if there was an option to beautify code when the user clicks a particular button, or even to automatically beautify before each commit.
