You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

### There are two ways to get more votes:

• When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
• You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
• To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Thanks for getting in touch. We don’t allow upload of .aux files because they are usually generated automatically as part of the build process. Can you elaborate on why you’d like to upload .aux files?

• ## Synchronize and update files from google drive/ drop box

Hi there,

I know that Overleaf has already integrated functionality with google drive and drop box etc.
But, one of the powers of using Latex is you can specify a file name in a directory and whenever you compile, it would get that file/image - so you could work on your analysis and write a new image with the same file name (same file name as the older image) and Latex would pull the new image.

Is it possible to have this kind of ability in Overleaf? Something like a refresh button in the Project Files section which then reloads…

Better Drive + Dropbox sync are coming soon. Thanks for the feedback. :)

• ## is there a way to include the minted-package at version 2+

I would need minted at version 2+ in order to use the breaklines option.
Is there any way to specify the version or upgrade overleaf to version 2
(as far as i have tested it, it is fully compatible with 1.X)

We’ll soon be updating to the TeX Live that ships with Ubuntu 15.04, which should solve this problem.

• ## Each document should have a shareable link directly to freshly compiled pdf without source view

At the moment, each document has two shareable links: one leads to an editable view, the other to a read-only version of source and compiled document. But sometimes you only want to give someone access to the (continually updated) pdf/compiled version of the doc. For people who don't need or want to see the source. My suggestion is to add a third shareable link; one which leads directly to a pdf file (compiled fresh from the current source) and nothing else.

This is different from sharing on figleaf as you may want to share a window to work-in-progress as it…

Thanks for the feedback. I think this is a good idea, and we’ll try to work it into our API plans for the near future.

• ## Provide one git repo with all projects inside, including new ones

Keeping one repo with all my Overleaf projects updated would be much more convenient than having to clone a new repo every time I create a new project. This would also entail new projects automatically being tracked in git, which I think is a good idea.

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll see if we can support something like that. It’s worth noting that the git bridge is open source, and it may be possible to adapt it to provide a multi-project repo view. (https://github.com/overleaf/writelatex-git-bridge)

• ## Rich text mode display figures reliably

I only seem to get figures displayed in the rich text editor if I store the image files in the 'root' folder of the project. When I tidy them into a separate folder (and point to the folder) the rich text editor displays [Not Found:...] despite the pdf preview displaying it just fine.

Thanks for the feedback. The rich text mode currently doesn’t understand the \graphicspath command, so it only works with images that have a full path specified. We’re planning to improve this.

• ## Can you please implement latex2rtf so we can get RTF output as well ?

• ## Make it possible, to highlight text in the "rich text mode" with different colurs

It would be great to be able to higlight parts of the text in the rich text mode in some colours which need to completed or reviesed.

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll see if we can provide a highlighting feature as part of our commenting / change tracking support.

• ## Don't let enumerate disappear in rich text mode

When typing an enumerated list, the parameters

$\begin{enumerate}$\end{enumerate}

disappear. This can cause quite a bit of confusion and it would be best to leave them visible for ease of highlighting, adding items, etc

Thanks for the feedback! We’ll see what we can do to make that behaviour clearer.

• ## Better Caret

Could you improve the caret? Maybe make it bold or have it in a bright color? I always have a tough time trying to find the cursor in the text. A more bolder version in bright colors would be a huge help.

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll see about providing different cursor options. In the mean time, note that you can change the editor theme via your settings, and some themes have different cursors. HTH!

• ## web editor is annoying for git users

I have one guy working with git, and I work with web editor. This guy will get many commits from me because my web editor creates these commit s during my editing. It will be much better if the web editor have a save or commit button so I can manually choose when to commit

Thanks for the feedback. Note that the git user will only get a new commit when he pulls, or if you have manually saved a version via the Versions menu. He won’t get a commit for every edit you make. Does that help?

• ## Find a way to gain finer control over tabs and indentation

The rich text looks great but I see its still has a few kinks to work out. Actually I think your system is great in any case (its just fine without the rich text) but LaTex itself could be more functional (e.g. not much support for tabs and successive indentation)

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll see what we can do to improve the consistency of indentation in rich text mode. At present, we mostly leave it alone, except inside list environments.

• ## Search in all files

Allow searching in all files in the project, instead of just in the one currently active. For instance, this could have been helpful for me personally when I had to find an unclosed \begin{environment}.

Thanks for the feedback. Better file management within projects is coming soon. For now, you may want to check out our git interface ( www.overleaf.com/blog/195) which will let you move files around locally and then push your changes.

• ## Cannot use find and search functionality effectively.

I'm not experienced in regular expressions. I can't seem to conduct a normal search using Ctrl+F. The search bar pops up but finds and highlights nothing and turns up empty. Not in vim-mode in default mode.

Thanks for getting in touch. We haven’t had any luck reproducing this, but if you can get in touch via www.overleaf.com/contact with some more detailed information about the behaviour you’re seeing, we may be able to help.

• ## set utf8 instead of utf8x as default option for inputenc in “New Paper” template

tex.SE suggest to avoid using utf8x if it is possible. It is quite misleading for novice to get utf8x as default option when creating “New Paper”. I've just wasted about 15 minutes to figure out what's wrong with fncychap package before noticed that I forget to change utf8x for utf8 in newly created paper and this fixed the problem like a charm.

So please, set utf8 instead of utf8x as default option for inputenc in “New Paper” template.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree it would be better to use utf8, but utf8x “just works” with a wider range of accents in European languages. We think it’s the lesser of two evils, but we’re certainly open to other solutions.

• ## Make the preview have fast scrolling on swipe on the iPad

I use my iPad with the preview in full screen while I work on my other computer with full screen latex, but it's hard to use the preview on the iPad because scrolling is entirely 1:1 with finger motion, so you can't swipe and release to fling the page and scroll quickly like you can with webpages.

• ## make the git server more reliable

The git pull/push service is excellent, but the git server right now is not really very reliable. From time to time I will get the error message "fatal: remote error: Overleaf server not available. Please try again later." It would be great to improve the reliability of the git server.

Thanks for reporting this. The git server is still in beta, but its reliability is improving quickly. The git server is open source, so you can track progress and contribute if you like!

If the server goes down in future, it’s best to send a message to support@overleaf.com - that’s the fastest way to let us know.
