In the mean time, the best thing to do is to remove the content of the project by deleting and/or erasing all of the files.

I totally agree with "Markdown format would be very convenient for sharing quick ideas and notes among mathematicians, as opposed to full papers". Having this feature would be a big plus for Overleaf. Implementation wouldn't be hard, given the good examples of pandoc and stackedit.Guidi Zhou supported this idea ·
Thanks for the feedback! We use the vim mode that comes with CodeMirror, so the most likely way this would happen would be for the CodeMirror vim mode to understand vimrc. Feel free to suggest it there, or maybe we could develop this as a codemirror plugin. There have been some related suggestions already, e.g. https://github.com/codemirror/CodeMirror/issues/3049
